Kotoko dropped new music... I was just reading her blog today. Another collab with Aiobahn, cool.
I just wrote and sent a fan email to one of my favourite bands in the year A.D. 2026. I suppose that people do still send fan letters, emails, etc. but you don't really hear about it anymore. Like, I feel like the idea of writing to a favourite artist, writer, or musician was more of a "thing" prior to social media. I don't expect to get a response but it was fun. They're pretty niche so they probably don't get too many people writing to them.
@heteroclite The worst thing about having an interest in premodern music is that you will never know what most of it sounded like.
> TFW you will never know what the hymns of the various late antique Roman mystery religions sounded like
You hear a lot about the, "global rise of conservatism and authoritarianism, neoliberal, etc., etc.," these days, but I'll only believe that that's the case when really good synthpop albums start coming out, like in the '80s. If that ends up happening in the upcoming years then there's reason for concern.
If you reach a net worth of 1 million USD and decorate a house or design clothes (or pay someone to do so), etc. and the results are not bad from a technical standpoint but are really disappointing taste wise, you should have most of your money seized by the government and it invested in art school scholarships for disadvantaged students.
I wish that the word "pathetic" still had its original meaning in common parlance— that is of something being particularly moving (from the same Greek πάθοςor as pathos) emotionally arresting; to inspire pity.
