I keep adding onto this sorry. I have a jp oomf on twitter who spent like 80k yen on a physical copy of Sayonara wo Oshiete and has two copies of Jisatsu 101 that's even more expensive but he supports fan TLs and stuff he's chill people like this also exist I guess
There are already enough people in Japan who will spend 60k yen on a out of print 20 years old visual novel and despise piracy you don't have to fight with the fake ones It's Fine
While this is a common japanese sentiment don't get me wrong I'm not saying that it isn't everytime those "japanese people fucking hate piracy" talks start I see a flood of people arguing with ragebait accounts made yesterday that communicate in google translated japanese and like Are You Fucking Blind
