@comix64 This photo was taken in a waterfall at a shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second, and at a focal length of 300 mm. Outside the technical info, location matters, along with the shutter speed and zoom, but aperture can also have an effect. The extra contrast and colors were acheived via post-processing from Lightroom 4.0. Aim for a Camera that allows for custom Aperture and Shutter speed, as that has the greatest effect over the final image.
