more gym fun this morning. started on the assisted pull-up bar at -210 lbs resistance for my first set & then another guy asked if we could share the machine (so he could do his sets during my rest time & vice versa). i said that was fine but when he went to move the pin on the weights for me he put it at -195 instead of -210 & i didn't notice till i went to move it back to the weight he was using lmao. ended up doing three sets (8 reps each) at -195 instead. the last set sucked but i got through it!
also managed 17 minutes on the stationary bike which is a lot better than the last time i was on it. now my goal is to work up to 20 mins on both bike & treadmill!

OH YEAH i forgot to share how my fuckup at the gym yesterday turned into a win lol.
when i started using macrofactor for my workouts i logged some exercises wrong bc i didn't realise it accounted for a machine's base weight separately from the plates you put on it (so when you log the exercise you're only supposed to log the added weight). i've been correcting them as i go but i hadn't done leg press in a while & didn't realise it was still fucked until i started the exercise. my last log was like 180 total weight (110 base + 70 plates) but it was interpreting that as 110 base + 180 plates so now it was telling me to put 200 lbs of plates on. i decided, fuck it, let's try just for fun, i doubt i'll make it past 3 reps anyway... i made it to 10 & broke my previous PR by a huge amount in the process lmao

@holt i don't have the upper body strength for unassisted pull-ups yet so i do a lot of lat pulldowns too lol. been slowly bringing the weight down on the assisted pull-up bar at my gym though which means i'm still making progress

sonarchy@sonarchy i would never miss an opportunity to reference cs188 lol 🤝

samyang makes some really good stuff, i especially like their sutah ramen - the noodle texture is so satisfying. buldak can also technically be prepared as ramen if you adjust the amount of water used. as for nongshim, shin black is quite good but i find the flavour isn't as balanced ever since they started producing it in california compared to when it was just imported from korea. the regular shin ramyun is good too, shin light is the same flavour but has thinner noodles which is pretty interesting to eat. they also have a vegetarian noodle called soon that's quite good. recently i found a tom yum flavour being stocked locally as well, i bought some but haven't tried it yet - i'll report back when i do!

sonarchy@sonarchy sapporo ichiban is pretty good for instant stuff, i tend to favour korean instant noodle brands nowadays (nongshim/samyang mostly - samyang's best known for buldak obvs but they have other good stuff as well) but i should get some ichiban again sometime. it was my go-to for a long time, partly bc it's just super easy to find out here. try the yakisoba flavour from ichiban sometime if you can find it, i remember that one being pretty good too. also, if you can find marutai products in your area, try their stuff too! i love their kagoshima kurobuta (black pork) ramen & their kumamoto tonkotsu ramen.

i've never tried maruchan (i don't think they're sold in my part of canada) but i've tried nissin noodles a couple times & let's just say i think cs188 said it best: no one try sucky noodles from pissin

so a couple days ago i picked up some new shelving & tonight we tackled the downstairs closet... put the shelving in there & used it to finally make space for all our model kits & even some of my bigger lego sets. it's cleared up SO MUCH SPACE in my walk-in closet upstairs, i can actually walk in it again lmao. bf has way too many kits tho, his actually didn't all fit in his side of the shelving. downstairs has been mostly unused space for quite a while & bf has been wanting to turn it into a proper hobby/craft room for a while... figured this was a good place to start & it clears up space elsewhere in the house also. life with a recovering hoarder (who sometimes still has hoarding tendencies) can be difficult but he's made a lot of progress over the time i've lived with him.
