@spiral As a Christian (although I draw from/respect many other faiths as well), it is difficult for me to express this. But, I feel phrases like "God makes no mistake," or "God made me male" are unfortunately reductionist. Yes, God made no mistakes when making me, but I truly believe he made me who I am - both male and female. I apologize for sharing such personal information, but I respect my audience.

I am just putting this out there for those of you generous enough to follow... I am bigender. I do not exclusively feel I am male or female, but the labels "non-binary" and "agender" don't seem to fit either. I have known this since I was 14, and went through a period of identifying as transfeminine. Unfortunately, hospital staff and others were so transphobic that I began to repress any trace of this..

@faoil For instance, imagine signing your kid up for school and just telling them "he's autistic." OKAY, but what accommodations does he need? How can we actually make use of this information? The diagnosis is useful because it allows for easier access to these sorts of things, but it doesn't actually specify what concrete steps need to be taken to ensure his success.

@faoil @g4rf13ld Can you explain to me how I'm wrong, instead of leaving a passive aggressive note? Actual dialogue is much more interesting than low-effort trolling. It is 100% the case. It's 1000x more useful if someone tells me "I have sensory issues" than "I'm autistic," and the more specific, the more useful. Slapping labels on people and putting them in boxes doesn't help me understand the person beyond whatever stereotype I have in my mind about their diagnosis.

@faoil This isn't even an internet thing anymore. It seems like gen Z parents are competing to see how many diagnoses their kids can get. Everyone's autistic/ADHD/asdfkjsdf these days. Which is kind of ironic, because the symptoms/support needs/personality are what actually matter. Diagnoses are just labels and they don't really tell you anything specific.
